I am invariably drawn to art works in exhibitions where the puzzle for me is to ascertain how they were made, where things are not as they seem.
I enjoy trying to establish the processes and this is reflected in the way that I work. I have always been courageous and experimental in my making, pushing boundaries and embracing the chance to use unusual, non-painterly materials in my works such as stitching and resin.
I am inspired by nature and create rhythmic, colourful, abstract paintings. I have participated in group shows throughout Europe and hosted solo shows in many areas of London. My work has been installed in several large law firms' offices and in a hotel/private members' club in Covent Garden.
“"I commissioned Julia Noble to design a piece for my husband's 50th birthday present, as he loved the art of Julia’s he'd seen - in particular the textures and abstract nature which created vibrant and uplifting designs. The brief wasn't straightforward in that it was to create a large - approximately 3m x 2m piece interpreting sport, in particular hockey and using colours typical of the Indian culture such as reds, oranges and golds.”
“Julia was extremely professional throughout the commissioning process and kept me abreast of developments at all times providing progress photos and the stunning mixed media piece was delivered. She bent over backwards to work on the delivery logistics and the 'wrap' of invoicing and payment was incredibly smooth.
My husband was bowled over and it now hangs in our hallway and has received many, many comments about how it brightens the hallway and how unusual and 'tactile' it is - it's really a feature of the house.
If you're thinking about commissioning Julia - go on......just do it..... it'll make you very happy!"
